The very first teddy bear was either made by a german company called steve or a brooklyn toy store owner, depending on her you ask. They name it after theodore roosevelt. It's a huge sensation. And it's actually more popular than baby dolls, which freaks everyone out a little bit. You know, why should their children be playing with bears and not dolls? It's a little savage. Within a few years, i think stene is producing close to a million teddy bears a year and shipping them to the us.
