Is Public Sector Spending Complementary to Private Efforts?
Economists have tried to figure out whether public sector spending is a necessary complement to private efforts. The patent system is an attempt to privatize the benefits of r and d, so that for a while, you have monopoly rights to the research - but it's an imperfect effort. But even with generalr and d spending, the results are still mixed. I tend to prefer the ones ar peis to kill oter people, exactathe.
