The Disadvantages of Equity in Schools
Some places are waging war against them in the name of equity so even have some states I think it was Oregon where the governor signed into law a rule that they no longer required you to read write and do maths nor to graduate. A lot of what we've seen across the country is it's more of a funding issue which is hilarious because we're just throwing so much money at these schools but they're getting absorbed into administrative overhead rather than directly to the classroom and teaching these kids. In 2008 there was a survey of teachers where 80% of them agreed with this statement quote getting under achieving students to reach proficiency has become so important that the needs of advanced students take a back seat.
