The Importance of Institutional Information Exchange
I heard a story the other day of an organization where their meeting was taking place and there were three people who were online. I think that phrases like sense making, incidental information exchange need to be understood by anybody who's working in an institution right now. In an office we think we basically all use the equivalent of GPS to make decisions. So we are rational logical. And when we do our internet work, we kind of transpose that assumption onto how we all interact. But the reality is an office is all about sense-making.
