Are the Old Elites Just Replaced by New Elites?

Is the story here that the power of the elites was constrained once and for all or were the old elites just replaced by new elites? Yeah, that's a great question and I think it's a fascinating question that I think fascinates many of us. We have to think about also all the transition that happened that we're talking about 1990s, 2000s Brazil is way less agriculture, way more urban and industrial. So there are many things that change that eventually I think we need more research in order to try to understand.
