The Verb to Forgo Is an Unnatural Pairing
To forgo means to not have or do something enjoyable. The present participle is forgoing - I am forgoing cake for the next two weeks. To scoff, one's face means to eat aggressively a lot of food. So somebody who uses the verb to forgo might not scoff their face in public.
