Is There a Way in Which You Could Look at People, Places and Things in Your World Without Reducing It to Its Use and Exchange Value?
In an oral history with the Smithsonian, you said your work was informed by Marxist values. Do you think that still applies? I mean, we're destroying our ecosystem daily because we reduce it to its use and exchange value. We know that people can be oftentimes reduced in those ways. And it's best what my work tries to do is remind us of that essential truth.
