The Olbers Paradox
Zach Wienersmith: Newton believed the universe was infinite with randomly distributed stars as we would say it today. This creates problems like Olbers Paradox, which is this, if there's all these stars in the universe has been around forever, how come I can't find my keys when I go outside at night? Because it's dark, shouldn't there be light everywhere? He says people from that time lived in a much smaller universe in their perception. And he thinks modern scientists are probably also going to be made fun of in future joke books about the universe.
