Gun Control

I'm planning to have a dialogue with two catholics who ably disagree with me on gun control issues and about or gun. We are going to talk about gun violence and whether it's a pro life issue. Normally i don't get too involved in politics, but i really wanted to talk to some one about this. There is no papal magisterial teaching on this question. I don't know of any bishop that has invoked his sterial office to teach. But my understanding hat the church teaches is that t e question should be framed as what does the church teach about a responsible adult owning something like a hand gun? And they own it for the purpose of lawful activity like hunting
