The party was just the latest in a long line of abuses committed by Mary Kilpatrick's executive protection unit. Officer Harold Nelthorp and Deputy Chief Gary Brown were fired for conducting unauthorized investigations. Another officer Lieutenant Alvin Bowman was transferred out of the homicide unit after discovering the 40 caliber bullets used in the murder of Tamara Green belonged to the same type of gun issued to Detroit law enforcement.
