In China, working class women feel highly excluded by this kind of register. This seems extremely close to what Kimberly Crenshaw was speaking about in her famous Mapping the Margins essay. In a country that's like, I wouldn't say China is like the poster child for multilingualism, it's actually not a very multilingual kind of language. Even in Putonkwa, there is a notion that Chinese is a language among languages and that languages are stratified in relation to one another.
