The Return to Investors in the First Voyage of the East India Company

The East India Company was one of the most prominent joint stock companies. They had this crazily bad first voyage where the ships nearly sank, but they still return to investors. There is no OPM that I'm aware of, but what they did do is that there was a Portuguese ship that was loaded with awesome goods from Indonesia and they set off and they actually captured it.
