Julia's job is to compare the grocery prices of our neighborhood stores for Saturday morning shopping. When an advertiser purchases an ad spot, they're betting they can mobilize a portion of that audience power into productive consumer labor. In this case, instead of being paid work, the production labor of an audience is the shadow work of purchasing commodities and navigating systems necessary to make a life in capitalism.
