Catholic Theology in America

Catholic universities in America offer a modern model that is basically an outlier in regards to Northern Europe. Catholic theology today, typically in North America and much of Northern Europe at least, has been marginalized from public academic life. The loss of reference to divine revelation in the 18th century as a four noted. And most recently, the practical effects of hyper specialization of disciplines in the consumerist economically motivated technocracy of the university centered on business and science innovation.
