What Do You Think About Technical Standards?

I wanted to ask if you could just summarize, but also think ahead a bit. Standards have been something which has largely existed outside of the purview of foreign policy analysts until quite recently. Now that technological standards have been wrapped up in this broader discourse on great power competition, how do you think that's going to effect standard settings? Maybe it isn't. The more politicize technical standard setting is, the more important for the standard developing process. On the one hand, we need to adapti to the politicisation. We need to make sure we don’t fall a victim to this development.
