US House Panel on China Advances a Raft of China Related Sanction Bills
The House Financial Services Committee advanced a raft of China related sanction bills on Tuesday. One would allow the Treasury Secretary to bar Chinese officials and their families from receiving services from US financial institutions. Another would pressure the IMF to oppose an increase of the Chinese renminbi in special drawing rights. They don't want Chinese officials to go to the G20 meetings. That seems pretty ridiculous. So just an example, again, of how Congress is really working hard to raise tensions with China here and take action against China in a lot of different ways.
