The Origins of Medics Status in Athens

The history of foreign migration at Athens dates back to the Archaic period. Medics status did not exist during the time of Solon, and scholars have tended to date its development to the reforms of klysthenes. Theanerarian descriptions revealed that at least 60 different Greek and non-Greek states were represented among the class of medics who resided throughout Attica.
