Mindful and Mindful Parenting
Some of what you're talking about requires a level of mindfulness but mindless parenting also has a role. We don't use the word mindless to mean that someone's being stupid or unwise. It's meant to imply a mental state in which you're not deliberate and conscious about what you're doing. The danger is not appreciating that some of your parenting is rather mindless, automatic and over learned. And it would be important to attend to what it is that you're feeling, experiencing and thinking as you begin to engage or interact with your child.
