The Triumph of Septimius Severeus

Septimius Severeus saw Hadrian's war as an essential part of his advance into Scotland. He turned South Shields Roman fort on River Tyne into the most enormous grain store to supply the advance north. His son Karakala returns to Rome, where he murders his own brother before seizing the throne. The whole of the Roman Empire is ruled from the city of York for three years.
