"Most real change is going to take a significant amount of time, both in investment time and calendar days. It just doesn't happen quickly," he says. "If we start thinking about changes that aren't as easy to measure as something on a scale, my change is to how reactive I am to my children." He asks: Are we doing this because we want to be accepted by other people based on their norms? Or is there something deeper inside of us?
