How Do We Protect People Who Report Corruption?

Most people would agree that those who come forward to report corruption should be able to do so without fear for their career or livelihood. People who do report corruption are subject to all kinds of retaliation in the workplace. They can also suffer threats to their physical safety. Putting in place a legal framework that comprehensively protects those who report it's actually incredibly complicated because whistle blow or protection law is a mosaic of employment law, criminal law, civil law and various laws governing or setting out frameworks to combat corruption.
