The Council of Nicea - A Brief History

The so called nicene creed was adopted by the council as orthodoxy in june of three 25. It stated that jesus christ was god from god, light from light,. true god from true god, begotten. Opposition to this formulation was now considered heretical. The moderate arians began to feel the heat and too signed on to the same substance creed. In the end only two of the staunchest arian bishops refused to sign.
