The History of Rome Podcast - The Arab Tribes

The eastern border of the empire had never been entirely secure or fixed. This was partly due to the growth in organisation and power of a people we are about to become very accustomed to talking about, the Arabs. The three Arabic groups are the Gassanids, the Lakmids, and the Kinda. On the map you can see their political distribution, but I wouldn't take those geographical markers too seriously. If you want, you can return to the map I posted with episode 8 that shows the world in AD 500, and you will find most of the peoples I am describing.
