The Inca Army
The inca army could reach the astonishing size of a hundred and forty thousand men. Any commoner could be conscripted as part of the inca system of organized labor. And every able bodied man was expected to take part in a war at least in some capacity, at least once in their life. Refusal to accept inca rule resulted in an invasion - any rulers who resisted were executed without exception. Their favourite tactic was to ambush their enemy in steep valleys, rolling rocks down the hillside and trapping them in avalanches.
