The Importance of Oral Tradition in the Book of John
John chapter eight, verses one through eleven is not in any of the earliest manuscripts. It's led many scholars to ask the question, okay, was this added later? And at the end of the day, we don't know. The people that knew John may have taken this oral tradition, texturalized it and inserted it into the book of John.
