The Mountain Meadows Massacre

In 1832, in Ohio mob, Kidnaps, Joseph Smith and another church leader named Sidney Rigdon and Tarzan feathers them. In 1830s, groups have formed around the United States who are aggressively anti-Mormon. And actually, Joseph Smith is left with lifelong injuries because of this attack. Then there's Jackson County, Missouri, where they face more resistance and persecution, non-Mormons in the county do not want the church moving in. They even write a formal manifesto saying that they are determined to rid our society of Mormons. This is how people are doing business in this era hmmm so far as I can tell.
