The Story of Diego Maradona

Diego Maradona was spotted by a talent scout when he was eight years old. He became the main breadwinner for his family, moving everyone into an apartment. At 20, he signed for Boca Juniors, rejecting higher paying offers at other clubs. Just a year and a half later, he transferred to Barcelona for the then record fee of £5 million - today's equivalent of around €22 million. The decision to leave Barcelona was actually made for him after a match with Atletico Bilbao where Maradona led a huge physical fight between the two teams.
