The Fluidic Computers of the Future
The venusians never evolved eyes like ours. There just isn't much to see, and the arid atmosphere would drive them out pretty quick. They had an industrial revolution, but it didn't end in electronic power since they didn't need lights for their underground homes. Maybe at one point they even experimented with gear base computers, but those fell out of fashion once binary became the way of the future. The venusian industrial revolution required a lot of math, so eventually a grand calculating machine was devised. It used convenient materials, pressurized carbon dioxide and volcanic glass.
