The Bias Blind Spot
The bias blind spot is this well-documented and widespread tendency for people to believe, I include myself in this, that we're more objective and less biased than our peers. The social psychologists have their own preferred explanations for this involving a certain kind of introspection illusion. And there's an important first person versus third person asymmetry in the conditions under which we're in a position to identify biases in our own case where it's not primarily a matter of introspection as the psychologist think.
