The Slavery Uprising in France

Word of the slave uprising did not hit paris until november. The magnitude of the revolt sent the friends of the blacks into a political tailspin. Now they had never advocated for anything but gradual emancipation and compensation to the owners. So many northern merchants braved the revolt to engage in a little revolt profiteering. Almost practically the last major power to find out about the revolt was France itself.
