The Challenge of Interdisciplinarity at Harvard
In many schools, there is a lot of language around interdisciplinarity. And then when it actually gets on the ground, it becomes a lot more territorial and that there are a lot sort of stronger boundaries. I love that the GSD has been all the courses beyond core, all the electives and option courses don't have a direct affiliation with a department even though they do because every faculty member has a direct affiliation to a department. So it's a but it but it signals and I think in a very profound way that that you know there is this mixing that happens at that level.
