CHAPTER

Identic Reduction and Consciousness

There's no such thing as some empty consciousness out there. Consciousness is not some empty container or some empty factory on our heads, waiting to be filled up with perceptions. The more these phenomena look at consciousness, the more they see it as more of an activity than some mysterious thing up in our heads. Member consciousness is always actional, doing something, and referential, pointing toward something. We have seen a succession of accidental desires springing forth from the other, with no possibility for us to grasp their genesis. What if we don't have anything about consciousness that leave us unable to fully understand them? This old style of philosophy was severely misguided.
