Reproducing the Social Sciences?

In physics, you get this enormous ability to do inference about a particle's behavior. So I don't think that kind of control an inference may never be possible in the social sciences. Is it going to end up a little bit like the relationship between fluid dynamics and weather and climate? It doesn't mean you can really predict very much, but you can understand the long term.
