The Law Dispenses Reason
I don't think we'll find in the promise we won't find an answer in the law I think this is a lacuna in the law. It's not explicitly stated that if a married layman were elected the pontiff he would be dispensed from his obligation of celibacy and as much as he was ordained a bishop which is it's not usually happened. If there's one thing I've learned in my canonical education it's reason never dispenses anything in fact reason rarely has anything to do with it.
