The Role of Self-Authority in Legality

Normative claims are saying something's good or bad, right? And then there's also the norms of society. The things we as a society have decided are the way things ought to be. This is useful in the context of law and this stuff of legalism and legality. Strong legalism takes that sort of personal responsibility away and finds ways to make it more like automatically enforced. Under strong legalism, it would be like we have CCTV cameras that do computer vision to detect when people spit on the street and we serve them with a summons for it.
