The Importance of Happy Laxing
Linguists like to call happy Laxing. This is with the final Y of a word pronounced more like egh, and that's like E. But before you mock him further for his Laxness, bear in mind this is also a feature of the poshest of posh accents. Just imagine, for example, the Queen saying, I'd like a cup of coffee. Or I believe there is a small ragged child wedgin' my chimney. Which just goes to show that the sounds of accents are arbitrary, and our judgments of them are actually judgments of people.
