How to Invest in a Ball-Shaving Company

VCs like to talk about the total addressable market, but that doesn't mean everybody's going to be in an industry. With Manscaped, which is one of our companies, I knew if you build it and you do this marketing, wow, that the balls are out there. And what we got right about him was that he was just a fierce marketing guy. He didn't get hung up on making everybody a convert. The best founders are good storytellers because they know how to work hard at being a good salesman. They see something that everybody else doesn't see, and I wish it was easy, but it just isn't.
