In the late seventies, early eighties there was just so much change taking place. This seems like a time when you could all wrk with each other to kind of try to understand this transformation that's taking place in the world. But that wasn't the case. We would pull out our hair trying to find someone, an analyst, who could approach that piece because we generally did not have that kind of perspective. So i often think, and i know your historian, i often think that the great intelligence analyst is writing history that will withstand the scrutiny of the passage of time, but writing it at the moment. That is what great intelligence analysis is."
