The Importance of Premature Optimization

It's such a hard tight rope to walk because I remember starting startups back in 2008 and 2009. Back then everybody wanted to build a massive social app. It's funny looking back on it how much time I spent thinking about how to scale up to a company size that would be that big. And yet never built anything that ever got that many users so it's basically wasting my time. Yeah that's basically the diverse thing about premature optimization but for some things it's very important.
