Craig's Most Famous Argument: The Calam Cosmological Argument

The Calam Cosmological Argument is based on the idea that every being which begins has a cause for its beginning. Versions of it have gone back to John Philoponus in the 5th century and medieval Muslim scholars of the Calam School of Theology. It can be helpful if someone believes things like the Big Bang Theory show the universe had an absolute beginning. Craig defends Premise two with scientific arguments based on contemporary cosmology and philosophical arguments about the impossibility of actual infinites.
