Asha banipol had ruled over the assyrian empire at its height, and had managed to maintain its size and health until his own death in the year six 27. B c e. It was after this time that assyrian fortunes would change collapse. After the death of ashabanipel the babylonians revolted against the assyrians, and this escalated into all out war. The eratians were left out in the cold by their assyrian overlords. This meant they could not offer support to the lydians and the euratians,. who were in turn being attacked by peoples from the eurasian steps to the north of the whole region
