There's been substantial progress, particularly amongst the parliamentary labor party. But women arestill a minority in parliament and local goverment. Women have to be asked multiple times before they agree to stand in a political position. We also know that the toxicity out there is absolutely rife. I've been subjected to really grim levels of racism and misogeny,. Every time i'm on television, for example, overwhelmingly it's men who are tweating me, attacking me.
