Affective Altruism

There is a movement that seems to want to take altruism seriously and to be good at it. They call themselves affective altruism. You wrote an essay on this uh they the I've met some of the people active in this they they strike me as super smart usually really after chart smart very technologically oriented very secular um not religious at all. What is it what is it that they're doing to what extent is it really altruism and to what extent does it effective? We should come back to the point that they're really smart and often seem well meaning but let's first talk about the the actual idea that they're practicing.
