How to Overcome Discomfort in Conversations
The four reactions that we call a DDA behaviors which is avoid deflect and I and attack so someone comes to me and says, you know, can I have a hiring committee for the law school last year and the diversity numbers of the candidates you hired were terrible do better. And it takes a lot of courage first to even go through this introspective process to figure out what it is that we're feeling because when we feel that discomfort, a lot of times we just want to, we don't want to explore it. So I'm glad we're starting here because naming it I mean this is this is classic psychological research we name it to tame it.
