Trauma Is the Wound That We Suffer
"I can't even claim that I have some trauma because there are other people who have far greater trauma," she said. "Trauma is the wound that we sustained... Everybody has sustained some wounds from from childhood, from things that have been said to them." If a child came to her and said, 'I'm hurting, you know, I've pain, I'm wounded,' she would say: 'Come on. You're not being hurt' She's denying her own pain by comparing yourself to other people. That lack of self compassion is a sign of trauma.
