Dopamine, Chocolate, and the Pain Side of the Pain Balance
When i eat a piece of chocolate, i get a little release of dopomin in my brains reward pathway. But no sooner has that happened than my brain adapts to that increased dopemine by down regulating dopamine transmission. And i like to imagine this as these little narrow adaptation gramblings hopping on the pain side of the balance to bring it level again. They like it on the balance, so they don't get off. It seems like some kind of no cruel, cruel joke, but the fact of the matter is that it's a very ingenious way of making sure that we are always in something more.
