In 19 60, the number of children who were raised by both of their birth parents was virtually identical. By two thousand five, for the upper class, it had dipped somewhat from 95 % to 85%. For the working class, it went from 95% to 30%, which was a massive drop off. Even my former enlisted friends, even they had been raised in a sort of intact middle class family. But i want to stress that even this is kind of a luxury, this preoccupation with getting into college. It's worth mitigating that.
