The Search for Intelligent Life

I think we should be supporting the search for intelligent life, because i suspect there are great ideas in there that might inform my own economic research. I actually have a very different rational for why i think people should be interested. Because what entreats me about your problem is that it is just so believably hard. How do you detect possible signals of an unknown nature coming from life forms we may not even be able to imagine? To begin to solve problems like that, it seems to me it incredible ingenuity and creativity and brilliance.
