Is the Rise of Mental Health Problems in Universities a Material Explanation?
The reporting of mental health problems amongst university populations in the countries of our focus, at least, skyrocketed over the last decade or so. The rise of the discourse around the epidemic had a very sort of material explanation which was that more students were suffering from anxiety and other sorts of related mental health conditions. And we could see, again, this period from the late 2000s to early 2010s to the time of this publication there seemed to be a chain of those events during this more recent period.
