Master signifier is the signifier that grounds signification, right? It's the first one. So it doesn't have a meaning, it doesn't has a signified itself and that's why it can function that way. And I think it's- Wait, hold on. Can we stop on that? Yeah, yeah. What you just said is really, really, really important. There's a lot of times people talk about master signifiers as though they are quilting points or something like that. The point of the master signifier is that it is not. Like an invisible umbrella but nonetheless has all these like terms, ideas, concepts under it.
